We call it Casa Buenavista because the views are stunning.
We found this house on a whirlwind trip to the Costa Brava in March 2004. We were scheduled to see about ten places that day. This was the third one we visited. We quit looking when we walked onto the terrace and saw this view.
The outlook is not just majestic; it is also a tonic to the soul. Sit on the terrace, sip some Albariño and let the troubles of the world melt away.
This is not just an impersonal vacation rental; it is our home in Spain, a place of joy and wonderful memories, not just for us, but for everyone who has had the pleasure to stay here.
Casa Buenavista is located just outside the magical town of Begur in Catalonia. The spacious family home is situated in a quiet neighbourhood with scattered luxury villas on a forested hill. Begur, a beautifully preserved mediaeval town with a charming hilltop castle and fantastic restaurants, bars and boutiques, is a short 25 minute walk from the house, on a road that winds through forest. The town is 90 minutes north of Barcelona, and 45 minutes from Gerona, in one of the few areas of the Costa Brava that have not been ruined by over-development.
The three-story house sleeps six comfortably, and has two balconies and four sunny patios. The garden area includes a private pool and a jacuzzi (a rarity in the area, but welcome during off season lets). Five secluded beaches are accessible by car, with the closest five minutes away. Five excellent golf courses are nearby, playable all year round.
The property has been inspected and approved by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government) and the Ajuntament de Begur. The Alta de la Generalitat number is: HUTG-011830. It is listed on HomeAway, https://www.homeaway.co.uk/p8013434
